I recently had the opportunity to style a panel discussion for the Women’s Council of Realtors of Orange County. While event styling might seem different from interior design or residential staging, the core principles are the same—creating a space that enhances the experience of those using it.

For this panel, we worked with the existing lounge furniture—a beige couch and two beige chairs—which provided a neutral foundation. Rather than introducing bold statement pieces, we leaned into a sophisticated, neutral palette, layering in accessories and pillows to add warmth and texture without overwhelming the space.

To create depth and visual interest, we incorporated olive trees, which not only added height but also introduced a natural element that made the setting feel more inviting. Thoughtful details, like placing end tables within easy reach, ensured panelists had a convenient spot for drinks or notes—small touches that make a big difference in user experience.
